Unprovoked attack in Grantham leaves victim with head injury

A man has sustained a deep cut to his head after he was robbed and assaulted on Dudley Road in Grantham yesterday (Sunday).

Following a night out the victim was walking along Dudley Road at around 2.20am, when he was attacked from behind and hit over the head with what is believed to have been a bottle.

This left a 2-3 inch cut to the top of his head and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

His wallet is also thought to have been stolen in the incident, which police officers say was completely unprovoked.

The assault was carried out by two men, both described as white with one having dark hair and the other wearing a grey hooded top.

Anyone who may have any information relating to the incident, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area around 2.20am, is asked to contact Grantham CID at Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 60 of 27 April, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
