A man died this morning at Stainby Quarry in an incident involving an HGV.

Police are investigating the incident in which the 57-year-old man died.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We received a report at just after 11am this morning (3 July) of an industrial accident involving an HGV and a 57-year-old man who was an employee at the quarry which is on Crabtree Road, Buckminster. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The road remained open throughout the day.

The Health and Safety Executive have been informed.

Two ambulances, a number of police cars and other support vehicles attended the quarry.
