Police have cordoned off part of Castlegate and Agnes Street in Grantham after the robbery of an elderly woman.

Police have confirmed a robbery took place this morning in Agnes Street, near the Castlegate area.

At about 10.30am, an elderly woman was reported to have been pushed to the ground and her handbag was stolen. She is receiving medical attention for an injury to her head.

A section of Castlegate has been closed off and traffic is being diverted.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested.

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward with information. They should call police on 101 quoting incident 110 of 16 June.
