Nicola Lehair, 28, of Goodliff Road, Grantham has been charged with robbery at the Yorkshire Bank on the High Street on April 30, and attempted robbery in connection with an incident at Santander Bank yesterday afternoon.

She has appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court this morning, and was remanded in custody to appear at Lincoln Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on May 30.

At 1.15pm yesterday, police were once again called to reports of a robber at a town centre bank, this time at the branch of Santander on the corner of St Peter’s Hill and the High Street.

Shortly afterwards, officers arrived at the scene and a woman was arrested and taken to Grantham Police Station for questioning.

Yesterday’s attempt followed a robbery at Yorkshire Bank just over a fortnight ago.

Lincolnshire Police are also continuing to ask for witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation, and for anyone with information in relation to either of the crimes to call 101 quoting reference number 217 of May 15, or 250 of April 30.
