For the first time in five years, Grantham Foodbank are running very low on basics, and have issued an urgent appeal.

The Grantham Foodbank, located on Greyfriars, urgently needs ketchup, salad cream, tinned fruit, sponge puddings, tinned rice pudding, sugar and toilet paper.

It is also low on dry pasta, tinned baked beans, tea bags, long life milk, long life juice, cordial and coffee.

Grantham Foodbank’s co-ordinator, Brian Hanbury, said: “We do have a collection on May 21 at Asda, but we will run out of a lot of items before then.

“We have supported over 2,178 people over the last year, including an increase in percentage of children to 722.”

If you can help, drop off items at the Foodbank on Greyfriars, or contact Brian by calling 07816872561 or by email at enquiry@granthamfoodbank.org.uk
