Van targeted by thieves on Grantham street




Van owners are warned to be on their guard after another van in Grantham was targeted in the early hours of this morning.

The van was parked on Winchester Road, Grantham.

The owners were only alerted to the attempted break-in when the van alarm started going off at 2am and their dog started barking.

The house owner said: "Someone has ripped open the back door of my partners works van. Please check your vans down Winchester Road."

Fortunately no tools were kept in the van so they don't believe anything was taken.

The owner added: "They have made a right mess and as there was no was of securing the van so my other half had to stay up all night. He can't go to work now so it has messed his day up."

The attempted break-in is the latest in a spate of vans being targeted in the Grantham area.

Thousands of pounds worth of tools were stolen from six vans across Grantham last Monday night.

Police have been informed.
