A mother is calling for action to be taken to repair damage to a park near where she lives.

The park, on the Bovis Homes development off Springfield Road, Grantham, has become a target of vandals and anti-social behaviour is common.

Nicky Allen told the Journal: “This was a lovely little park but for months it has been like this (pictured) – it’s such a shame. Is it ever going to be fixed?

“There should be a age limit as once again the baby swings are being damaged.”

The park falls under the responsibility of Bovis Homes. A spokesman said: “The play area was provided as part of a package of community benefits funded by Bovis Homes which also included highway improvements and education provisions.

“The play area is currently in the process of being adopted by the council and until this is complete, we have a team regularly visiting the site to maintain the area. We have organised inspections of all of the equipment at the park.

“We are aware of the current issues and we’re working with our contractors to carry out repair work. We apologise to residents for the issues and would be grateful if anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour in the area could contact the police immediately.”
