Several cars were vandalised in a Grantham street on Friday night – a common occurrence according to one victim.

Reports suggest around nine cars were damaged in Rycroft Street, off London Road.

Some had bins put through their windscreens while others had their wing mirrors smashed.

Darren Brown, 31, lives in the street and his car was targeted. The wing mirror of his car was destroyed by the vandals.

He said: “[It’s] now becoming a regular thing as we’re all parked near the town centre.”

Lincolnshire Police confirmed that nine cars were damaged in the street on Friday evening and into the early hours on Saturday.

One, a Volkswagen Passat, had its bumper and a door damaged and a wing mirror broken off.

Another was a taxi, its bonnet and wing mirror damaged.

A police spokesman said: “In total there are nine reports of similar occurrences in the area and we are currently investigating.”

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. One was aged 20 and the other two aged 21. All three were released on bail pending further enquiries.
