Vehicles stolen at Claypole and Long Bennington

Lincolnshire Police are reminding people to keep vehicles and keys safe and secure after thefts in Claypole and Long Bennington.

On Saturday morning police received a report of a blue Audi A1 stolen from a property on Doddington Lane in Claypole.

One of the occupants at the address had left the car keys in an insecure building close to the vehicle. It is believed the car was stolen sometime between around 8am and 11am that day. (incident 162 of 20/02/2016)

Another incident was reported on Sunday, at around 4.30pm, when a blue Vauxhall Vivaro van parked on Lilley Street in Long Bennington was stolen. It was taken when the keys were on the seat of the van while the driver was momentarily away. (incident 262 of 21/02/2016)

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We would like to remind people to keep vehicle keys safe at all time and to not leave vehicles insecure, regardless of it whether or not it is for a short period of time.”
