Vet centre to open in Long Bennington if approved

A satellite veterinary centre could soon open in Long Bennington, bringing with it job opportunities.

An application has been submitted to the planning authority, South Kesteven District Council, to convert a property on Main Road into a Minster Veterinary Centre featuring two consultation rooms.

It would open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 12.30pm on Saturdays, on an appointment only basis. Any animals needing further investigation or surgery would be referred to Minster’s larger practice in Newark.

The satellite centre in Long Bennington would be its fifth such facility.

The application states: “The development will provide a much needed local veterinary centre to a vibrant and busy large and expanding village.”
