Video: Allington Morris entertains at St George on the Green in Grantham

Traditional morris dancing was popular with visitors to St George on the Green on Sunday.

Crowds gathered in Grantham’s St Peter’s Hill to watch the displays by Allington Morris, one of many forms of entertainment put on by volunteers to celebrate England’s patron saint, St George.

During the day, Allington Morris dancers handed out leaflets calling for new members to join the group, which formed in 1988.

Members practice at Allington Village Hall on Thursday evenings from September until the official start of the dancing season on May 1.

Anyone interested in joining the group can call secretary Mary McKinlay on 01400 281671.
