Sophie, an 8ft Tyrannosaurus Rex, visited a village school last Monday.

The front of Leadenham Primary School was transformed into a prehistoric setting with fake ash and snow falling from the sky and volcanic smoke streaming from the ground when the Life Long Ago workshop visited the school to inspire the pupils in their ‘Dinosaurs and Potions’ story writing topic.

All pupils became paleantologists taking part in a fossil hunt. Headteacher Matthew Nicholson said: “It was a fantastic day, where children had hands-on learning experiences, which stimulate imaginations and set the context for the rest of the week’s lessons.”

Next term, a set of new laptops will arrive to enhance ICT provision in addition to pupils’ class computers and iPads.
