A service of remembrance was held at Grantham Cemetery on Saturday at the unmarked grave of Robin Jaques.
Flying Officer Jaques - the father of Carry On star Hattie Jacques - was killed when he crashed after taking off from Spitalegate Aerodrome on August 8, 1923.
On the 90th anniversary of his burial a ceremony was held in FO Jaques’ memory.
Those in attendance included family historian Peter Reichelt who organised the service and tracked down FO Jaques’ remains to the unmarked plot.
The Royal Air Force Association was represented by former Mayor of Grantham Graham Wheat and Grantham PCSO Alfie Kent as standard bearer. Others present included RAF Researcher Ian Simpson.
A guard of honour was provided by air cadets from 47F Grantham, led by Squadron Warrant Officer Michael Clarke while fellow cadet Tom Joseph read the poem “High Flight”.
A wreath in the shape of a RAF Roundel was donated by Glen- Esk Flowers laid on the grave by cadet Tom Priest.
