A facility for vulnerable adults set up by a Grantham hero has just held its first table cricket league.
Last year, Sue Harris established sessions for vulnerable adults with learning difficulties at The Meres Lesuire Centre and went on to be crowned Local Hero in the 2012 Grantham is Great Awards.
Table cricket is the latest in a long line of activities. The winning team will represent Lincolnshire at a table cricket competition at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge in December. If they are successful, they will then go on to play at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The centre at The Meres also runs football coaching for vulnerable adults on a Wednesday evening and swimming club on a Tuesday and Thursday.
