Jumble sale


A jumble sale will take place in the village hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am to noon. Entry is 50p.

The sale will include clothing, bric-a-brac and children’s items. Refreshments will be available.

Anyone who has items for the sale can drop them off at the village hall today (Friday) from 11.30am to 1pm or 5.30pm to 7pm.

If you are unable to deliver your items, please contact Theresa on 01400 281042 to arrange collection.

Fund-raising events

South Witham

There was a good turnout for the Macmillan coffee morning held in St John the Baptist Church on Saturday, September 28, when villagers and visitors enjoyed home-made cakes and a chat.

This was the third and most succesful of the Macmillan coffee mornings held in the church and raised £410.40. The organisers thank everyone who supported the event.

Village Voices and Friends presented an evening of entertainment in the church on Saturday, October 12, to raise funds to improve church amenities.

Village Voices sang a variety of songs and there was comic verse and a comic sketch performed by members of the group. Duets and solos by their friends rounded off the evening’s entertainment.

Tje event was well supported and raised £246.80.

Village Voices welcome new members and there is no requirement to read music. For more details contact or call 01572 767258 or 767653.

Fashion show


A new and nearly new fashion show and sale will take place in Folkingham this evening (Friday).

Held at the village hall, the show will feature an array of models wearing new and nearly new items.

It begins at 7pm and it is in aid of Cancer Research UK.

After the show, all of the clothes modelled and additional attire will be on sale. Tickets are £6 per person and are available from the Cancer Research UK shop in Bourne and Folkingham Store, in Market Place.
