By Grantham Reporter

A fraud alert has been issued by police following a report of a fraud attempt in Grantham.

The alert came from Operation Signature, a newly launched operation focused on identifying and protecting vulnerable victims of fraud in Lincolnshire.

In a tweet, police said: "We've received a report from the #Grantham area of a male contacting victims via telephone claiming to offer a service that stops cold calling. This is fraud - do not pass over personal or bank details.

"Please warn elderly family members or friends who are targeted."
