Strong winds are once again being forecast for Lincolnshire.

The Met Office has issued a ‘yellow - be aware - alert’ of wind for the whole of the county on Wednesday and Thursday.

Such an alert is currently in place for Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, North East and North West England, as well as the Yorkshire and Humber area.

Wednesday’s and Thursday’s weather warning covers much of the UK, with just the northern half of Scotland excluded.

A Met Office spokesman said: “Wind gusts of 50-60mph are likely quite widely through the warning area, whilst gusts of 75mph are likely around southern and western coasts and over exposed hills.

“The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption to transport and possibly power supplies.”
