We can now reveal the winners in the 2016 Grantham Journal Business Awards

Finalists gathered at the Grantham Journal Business Awards tonight (Wednesday) to find out whether they were winners.

Held once again in the grounds of Belton House, the awards are a celebration of business excellence in the Grantham area.

Around 275 people attended, beginning the evening with a drinks reception before going on to a four-course meal and then the awards ceremony and after-show party.

We can now reveal the winners in each of the 12 categories, plus the winners of the Judges’ Prestige Award and a one-off Grantham Journal Special Recognition Award.

**Great Taste Award

Winner: The Cakehole, Barrowby

Runners-up: The Crown & Anchor, Welby, and The Teaspoon Tea Company

**Independent Retailer Award

Winner: Simmonds Music

Runners-up: The Boutique, The Picture Cafe and The Trickling Tap

**Apprentice of the Year

Winner: Ben Fletcher, KBR Gas Services

Runner-up: Ruby Gallagher, Rocket Print and Promotions

**Young Businessperson of the Year

Winner: Ollie Brendan, Absolute Detailing

Runners-up: Amber Kitching, Sam Frisby and Chris Buck

**Best Not-for-Profit/Social Enterprise

Winner: Community Books

Runners-up: RotarySwimarathon and Grantham Rivercare

**Business Innovation Award

Winner: BGB Engineering

Runners-up: For Aisha and A1 Security Services

**Customer Care Award

Winner: The Boutique

Runners-up: The White Robin and Pristine Cleaners

**Employer of the Year

Winner: Viking Signs

Runners-up: Blue Castle and Rocket Print and Promotions

**Employee of the Year

Winner: Matt Loveridge, The Stag at Barkston

Runner-up: Hannah Hutson, Viking Signs

**After Dark Award

Winner: The Tap and Tonic

Runners-up: The Guildhall Arts Centre and The Everest Inn

**Manufacturing and Engineering Award

Winner: Grantham Engineering

Runners-up: BGB Engineering and KA Sensors

**Businessperson of the Year

Winner: Mark Salter, For Aisha

Runners-up: Stuart Pigram of The Trust Group and Tom Simmonds of Simmonds Music

**Business of the Year

Winner: Rocket Print and Promotions

Runners-up: The Picture Cafe and Barkston Refinishing

**Judges’ Prestige Award

Winner: Simmonds Music

**Grantham Journal Special Recognition Award
