Miss Laurie Hawthorn, daughter of Mr B. Hawthorn of Kettering, Northamptonshire, and Mrs J. Sturley, of Greenhill Road, Grantham, and Mr Andrew Challis, son of Mr and Mrs A. Challis, of Hereford Way, Grantham, were married at Grantham Register Office.
The ceremony was conducted by Lucy Smith.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a white satin dress with pearl and sequin encrusted bodice and train in red. She carried red and white roses.
Bridesmaid was Tiggy Buxton-Hawthorn wearing a red chiffon dress with sequined bodice. She carried flowers similar to the bride’s.
Page boy was Arnie Staples-Hawthorn, wearing a black dinner suit, white waistcoat and red cravat.
Best man was Fred Beck. Usher was Alan Challis.
A reception was held at Great Gonerby Social Club. A honeymoon followed in London and Spain.
The couple will live in Grantham.
Laurie is employed as a postperson and she enjoys cycling.
Andrew is a bar manager who likes playing darts.
