Westborough church suffers theft of lead from roof

Lead has been stolen from the roof of All Saints’ Church in Westborough, much to the anger of the church warden and parishioners.

Approximately 25 square metres of lead had been removed from the roof of the church off Witham Way, at some point during the night of Saturday, August 15 into Sunday, August 16.

Church wardren John Lawrence said: “I discovered it on Sunday morning and was very angry when I saw it. It is a very substantial portion that they have taken. We had another lead theft a couple of years ago, but that was a significantly smaller amount.
