Window smashed and blood left on pavement at Grantham restaurant
Barkers Restaurant on Vine Street, Grantham, was forced to temporarily close after one of its windows was smashed.
Owners Jodie and Daniel Barker turned up for work on Tuesday morning to find a window boarded up and splatters of blood on the wall and pavements outside.
Jodie said: “No one had been in contact with us. We had to contact the police ourselves who said that they had been extremely busy over bank holiday weekend. We couldn’t open for over an hour while we tried to deal with the mess.”
It's not the first time that the restaurant has been targeted.
Daniel added: "It is the 14th time that we've had a window smashed in 12 years."
Jodie contacted South Kesteven District Council who cleaned up some of the blood.
A police spokesperson said: “Criminal damage at Bakers Restaurant in Vine Street was reported at 11.13pm on April 21. A man punched the cafe window. He was taken to hospital. No arrests. Investigations are ongoing.
