Woman denies causing the death of a motorcyclist in a fatal crash at Corby Glen

A motorist accused of causing a fatal collision in which a motorcyclist died is to face a jury trial.

Judith Ward, 67, of Swinstead Road, Corby Glen, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Richard Newbold, 60, by careless driving when she appeared before Lincoln Crown Court today (Wednesday).

The charge follows a collision on the A151 Station Road, at Corby Glen, on August 9, 2020, between a motorcycle and a silver Kia Sportage.

The crash happened near to the Swayfield junction at around 12.15pm.

Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the hearing for a trial in May 2022 and Ward was granted unconditional bail.
