A 66-year-old woman has been waiting for an ambulance response for over an hour this afternoon after falling on Grantham High Street.

Catherine Allen of Union Street, Grantham has been unable to move and says her ribs hurt after falling on the pavement at around 3.15pm this afternoon.

Walking nearby, Andrew Anderson went over to help when he saw Mrs Allen fall, and ever since has been standing holding an umbrella over her provided by estate agents William H Brown over the road. All are concerned at how long she has been waiting in the cold and rain.

Two police officers passing by stopped and have themselves called for an ambulance service twice, describing it as ‘outrageous’.
