Traffic on Barrowby Road, Grantham, was brought to a halt this morning when a lorry carrying loads of pallets became stuck.

Its load was stacked too high to squeeze beneath the railway bridge – one of three in Grantham regularly struck by too-tall vehicles – forcing traffic to wait.

This photo was tweeted by Mark Hipkiss, who told us: “Driver climbed on trailer and moved loaded pallets about. Road clear now.”

He also echoed the thought which is sure to have entered many readers’ minds about the latest bridge vs lorry incident: “#MakesAChange”
