A unique record of Grantham past and its people will come alive in the new year.
Shoppers in Grantham will have a unique opportunity on Wednesday, December 3, when students from Grantham College will be taking portraits using antique cameras as part of the My Grantham project.
Anyone wishing to have a free vintage portrait of themselves or their family should come along to Unit 22 in the George Centre between 10am and 4pm where volunteers from the museum and students will help take you back in time. Anybody with treasured family portraits can take them in so they can be copied to create a picture of Grantham people past.
These images will be used in new artwork produced by students with Glassball Arts and will begin to appear throughout the town in the new year. These collaborative artworks will be found in public spaces and might include audio posts or film projections or a digital treasure hunt with augmented reality content to reveal a hidden Grantham.
