Grantham Journal letter: We need a rethink over surgery hours

Have your say

If we want to stop our A&E departments falling apart, our local GPs must radically change their surgery hours.

At least one local practice does not have an afternoon/evening surgery. Appointments must be made three weeks in advance so it means taking pot luck at an open surgery, where you can wait for hours to see a doctor.

Result: Ringing the out-ofhours numher and being directed to either the hospital out-of-hours doctor or A&E.

People are taking the easy way out - who can blame them.
