Thanks must go to Libby Simpson for organising the Dysart Park Fun Day. My family and I had a great time there and it was a pleasure meeting the stallholders and to see the park being used for the community.
Our parks and river area are great Grantham assets and we must do what we can to protect and promote them - so everyone can enjoy them.
Further to feedback from concerned residents, I am working with local representatives, organisations, councillors, park wardens and local police officers to promote and protect the River Witham and surrounding areas.
We are implementing initiatives to tackle a number of issues including anti-social behaviour, misuse of supermarket trolleys and threats to local wildlife and habitat under campaign River Watch.
Initiatives will include enhanced communication with local residents and river users, improved policing and liasion with local supermarkets and other businesses.
We are also considering re-claiming the area alongside the river at the rear of Sainsbury’s for community use.
If you would like to join Grantham River Watch please do not hesitate to contact me.
