Thatcherism is to blame for modern ills

Have your say

IN reply to P. Gibson’s rant (Journal, March 18) about the ills of modern society stemming from the peace movement and the liberalism of the sixties.

He showed his political bias by failing to mention the real cause, the Thatcherite eighties, the greed and the selfish doctrine of looking after number one and her words, there is no such thing as society.

To blame a time when people believed in something to help their fellow man, as opposed to the eighties when the doctrine was greed is good, is laughable.
