ANGLING: Grantham AA appeals for juniors to try out match action

Grantham Angling Association is appealing for more young anglers to come forward to contest its junior section matches, including eight cup competitions.

GAA junior organiser Alf Taylor said numbers had dwindled recently for a number of reasons and he would like a some more young anglers to make the matches more competitive. The first match is on May 6.

l Bottesford and District AA’s Norman Chenowerth Memorial match was fished on Grantham Canal.

Results: 1 A. Howe 4lb 11oz 8dr, 2 D. Foster 4.04.00, 3 J. Farrow 4.03.00, 4 L. Shucksmith 3.03.00, 5 B. Wigginton 2.15.00; sec 1 - B. Drake 2.08.00, sec 2 - B. Baines 2.07.00, sec 3 - J. King 2.08.00.

The next B&DAA competition is a club match at Willow Lakes (Chestnut), Foston, on Sunday, April 24, with a 9am draw.
