Grantham Running Club member Robert McArdle was in action over the festive period with a Christmas Day run round a very waterlogged Eglinton Park in Scotland, and a New Year’s Day outing at the very popular Peterborough 5km Parkrun in which he set a personal best time.

GRC’s Catherine Payne finished as third lady and set a new PB at Peterborough to climb even higher up the all-time rankings for her age group with a time of 21min 18sec. Robert also ran well to claim his second PB in three days with a time of 22:15

l Clubmate Andrew Pask set a personal best as he continues his rehabilitation from a long term injury with a time of 22:25 on the tricky Newark Parkrun course.

l In order to keep fresh for the county cross country championship race the following day, GRC’s Anna O’Hare elected to jog the St Albans Parkrun run with her young nephew, but still managed to finish in the top third with a time of 24:13
