A group of nine dedicated Grantham AC athletes took on the might of five other teams in Derby in the third Upper Age Youth Development League.

All the athletes put in great performances, with various personal bests achieved, and the team finished fifth overall against much larger squads.

There were first places for Amy Newell in the pole vault, Abbie Byron in the 300m hurdles and 300m, Eve Jacobs in high jump, and Ryan Carley in the javelin.

Eve was second in the long jump, Ryan at high jump, Florence Ireland at long jump and third in javelin, Hannah Payne was second in long jump and triple jump and third in shot, Ruth Payne was second in hammer and third in javelin, with Gabbie Lord second in the hammer.
