ATHLETICS: Grantham AC quartet perform well at NIA

Four members of Grantham Athletic Club put in sterling performances at the Birmingham Games in the National Indoor Arena on Saturday.

In the under-15 girls’ 200m, Amy Hunt finished first in 25.89sec. Still aged 12, she is ranked second in her age group for the distance and last year topped the rankings when still in the under-13s. Amy also finished third in the 60m on Saturday, finishing in 8.06sec.

Clubmate Naomi Collier competed in the senior women’s category and knocked 11 seconds off her 1500m personal best, taking sixth place in 4:33.6min.

Both Naomi and Amy set new Grantham AC club records.

Meanwhile, hurdler Zoe Lucas finished third in the under-20 women’s 60m event, recording 8.80sec.

In the under-20 men’s, Josh Brown won the 60m sprint in 7.35sec and set a new PB at 400m with a time of 51.84sec.
