ATHLETICS: Grantham AC’s Collier runs parkrun personal

Grantham Athletic Club had five ahletes competing at two 5km parkrun locations over the weekend.

Geoff Collier, who is normally seen in his coaching capacity, blasted round the Newark course and was rewarded with a 70 per cent age result and a personal best to go with it.

Results: Newark – 14 Geoff Collier 21min 57sec, 23 Keith Measures 23:22, 47 Richard Hall 25:42, 167 Dona Hall 38:27; Clumber Park – 49 John Ellerby 25:34.

l Ropsley Road Runner Tony Johnson ran the Eye 10km road race in Cambridgeshire on Sunday.

Competing in the Veteran 40 age category, Tony completed the distance in 40:15.

l Grantham Running Club’s Paul Durham also ran the Eye race, finishing 168th in 48:15.

l GRC’s Tom Fowler elected to take part in the Long Clawson 10km and took 18th place in 47:23.

l Six GRC members ran in four different 5km park runs at the weekend.

Results: Newark – 4 Iain Brown 20:39, 135 Erin Pask 33:56, Andrew Pask 33:57; Coventry – 349 Lizzie Potter 35:08; Lincoln – 66 Warren Stark 23:35; Peterborough – 16 Christopher Armstrong 20:04.
