Grantham Athletic Club had seven athletes competing in the Sleaford Half Marathon, with the normally testing course made much worse by the windy conditions.

Although times were generally down, Matthew Emery managed a top five position in 1hr 17min 42sec and Ben Allen managed to reduce his personal best by almost four minutes.

Results: 5 Matthew Emery 1.17.42, 15 Adam Madge 1.22.14, 19 Benjamin Allen 1.23.29, 107 Anthony Madge 1.36.10, 160 Sophie Stanley 1.41.56, 175 Arthur Short 1.43.27, 264 John Bainbridge 1.51.54.

Eleven of the club’s runners took part in three 5km parkruns over the weekend. At the Belton House event, William Tucker managed to slice a precious second of his PB, while Julie Stewart took a whole minute off hers.

Results: Huddersfield – 263 James Hall 27.31, 298 Richard Hall 28.09; Rutland Water – 5 Aaron Hunt 19.05, 31 Chris Hunt 23.57; Belton House – 5 William Tucker 18.53, 13 Rori Rodell 21.05, 19 Ewan Rodell 21.40, 33 Mark Tucker 23.23, 50 Julie Stewart 24.27, 116 Megan Tremain 30.31, 161 Dona Hall 52.43 (tail runner volunteer).
