ATHLETICS: Grantham AC’s Naomi runs PB at Newark

Grantham Athletic Club’s Naomi Collier put in a blistering performance at the Newark Parkrun last weekend, completing the 5km distance in 18min 57sec.

She was the first lady to cross the finish line and was rewarded with a new personal best for her efforts. Three members of the Tucker family also tackled the Newark event for the first time.

Meanwhile at the Peterborough event, Chris and Aaron Hunt were rewarded with PBs.

Results: Lincoln – 77 Richard Hall 24:24; Newark – 4 Josh Lord 18:31, 6 Seamus Sheard 18:57, 7 Naomi Collier 18:57, 11 William Tucker 20:11, 22 Mark Tucker 23:12, 29 Sophia Tucker 24:01; Peterborough – 15 Aaron Hunt 19:08, 118 Chris Hunt 24:09.

Three club members tackled the Belvoir Half-marathon at the weekend.

The popular event, in its 30th year, is traditionally held two weeks before the London Marathon and, as such, is used as a warm-up.

Results: 266 Julie Stewart 1:51:07, 292 Keith Measures 1:53:49, 394 Trudy Hanson 2:06:59.

A duo of Grantham AC athletes took part in the Friskney Half-marathon on Sunday.

The flat course normally produces quick times but the strong wind hampered performances on this occasion.

Results: 34 Arthur Short 1:37:24, 98 Phil Hall 2:09:37.
