ATHLETICS: Grantham AC turn out in numbers for parkruns

Grantham AC had a big turnout at parkruns with 15 runners competing at five different venues.

Club members recorded three new personal bests for the 5km distance – Geoff Collier took four seconds off, Sophia Tucker two and Stephen Hobday a healthy 18. Richard Hall put in a decent performance at the new Poolsbrook event, getting back to form after a lengthy injury.

Results: Colwick – 7 Anthony Madge 20:54; Long Eaton – 23 Geoff Collier 21:33; Abingdon – 2 William Tucker 18:02, 38 Sophia Tucker 22:13, 39 Mark Tucker 22:22; Belton House – 7 Stephen Hobday 19:56, 10 Aaron Hunt 20:12, 14 George Hatton 20:41, 32 Isabel Hobday 23:29, 43 Chris Hunt 24:14, 90 Catherine Muir 28:33, 91 Sophie Stanley 28:37, 92 Joanna McGrath 28:43; Poolsbrook – 71 Richard Hall 24:50, 138 Dona Hall 30:45.

The club had three athletes taking part in the first of four GoTri events organised by Belvoir Tri Club in The Meres pool and around the stadium track.

Ella Rose Hobday recorded a 14:05 performance in the Tristar 2 category while sister Isabel finished in 16:08 in the Tristar 3. Dona Hall completed the Senior event in 24:30.
