ATHLETICS: Grantham AC veterans perform well in Notts race

Veteran runners Arthur Short and Keith Measures represented Grantham Athletic Club in the Notts Five-mile Road Race which took place last Wednesday night on the city’s Victoria Embankment.

Arthur finished 28th in 30 minutes exactly, while clubmate Keith came in 162nd out of the 300 strong field in a time of 38:11.

On Saturday morning, the club had 5km parkrunners competing at six locations.

Tony Madge continues his tour of Australian events with a top five finish at the event in Town of Seaside, Marcoola.

Meanwhile, Dean Houlton achieved an age grade of 80 per cent at his local Lincoln event, while Josh Lord won the Mansfield event.

Results: Lincoln – 6 Dean Houlton 18:24; Mansfield – 1 Josh Lord 18:57; Southwark – 55 Richard Hall 23:56; Newark – 19 Keith Measures 23:32; Melton – 41 John Ellerby 25:26; Town of Seaside AU – 5 Tony Madge 21:04.
