ATHLETICS: Grantham athlete Victoria runs for charity in Ireland

Grantham Athletic Club runner Victoria Hardwick took part in the Emer Casey 10km race in Ireland, finishing 402nd in a time of 37min 45sec.

The race took part in and around the city of Cork and the event organisation was very relaxed in true Irish style, with the race timing being carried out by two people with mobile phones.

The annual event raises money for ovarian and uterine cancer charities (www.emercaseyfoundation.com).

Clubmate Dean Houlton took part in race three of the Lincoln Wellington 5km series, finishing in a time of 18:18.

On Saturday, Grantham AC had six athletes taking part in parkruns at two venues.

Comeback runner Dona Hall set a new 5km personal best at Newark, as did her husband Richard.

Results: Mansfield – 3 Josh Lord 19:04; Newark – 31 Keith Measures 23:53, 41 Janice Anderson 24:49, 48 Richard Hall 25:15, 54 John Ellerby 26:12, 140 Dona Hall 36:16.
