ATHLETICS: Grantham Athletic Club performs well at Northern Championships

A quartet of athletes from Grantham AC performed well at the Northern Championships, held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, with all four breaking club records for their events.

In the under-20 women’s category, Zoe Lucas won a silver medal in the 60m hurdles, finishing second in 8.78sec. Her performance now puts her sixth in the national rankings for the event in her age group.

Under-15 boy Lewis Davey collected a bronze medal for his third place in the 800m which he ran in 2min 20.00sec. He recorded another club record in the heats of the 60m sprint, recording 8.34sec.

In the senior men’s triple jump, Michael Burr finished in fifth place with a distance of 12.43m.

Naomi Collier ran the senior women’s 1500m and came home eighth in 4min 44.95sec.
