ATHLETICS: Grantham RC field five in weekend Parkruns

A quartet of four athletes from Grantham Running Club contested Parkruns in Lincoln and Newark on Saturday.

At the Lincoln event, Warren Stark finished the 5km in 22min 47sec for 40th position. Lucy Roberts completed the course in 28:15 as 26th lady to finish.

Meanwhile, at Newark Andrew Spencer posted a spectacular 20:20 to come home seventh, whilst Nick Payne managed a respectable 24:17 to romp home in 26th place.

l Grantham RC fielded five runners in 5km Parkruns in Peterborough and Newark last weekend.

Ruth Dunstan ran a solid 22:23 in the Cambridgeshire event which attracted 490 runners. She finished in 69th place and was the fifth woman to cross the line. Lucy Roberts posted 28:30 at the same event, finishing 256th.

Three fellow club runners raced at Sconce and Devon Park in Newark.

William Parkin, still in excellent form. finished second in a field of 134 with a great time of 18:58, whilst the first woman home for Grantham was Julie Wilson who finished as the 22nd fastest lady in a time of 31:04.

Robert Howbrook also put in a solid performance, coming home in 21:02.
