ATHLETICS: Grantham RC’s Gav is happy after Dirty Dash

Grantham Running Club’s Gav Meadows braved the windy conditions on Saturday to compete in the Dirty Dash 10km at Holme Pierrepont.

The off-road event was the final race in the East Midlands 10K Trail Series which also included races at Clumber Park and Sherwood Pines.

Gav completed the course in 47min 3sec, finishing 31st in a field of 189.

He said: “Considering the conditions, the difficulty of the course and the fact that I still had Belton House parkrun in my legs from the morning, I’m very happy with this result.

“I’ve really enjoyed this series and it’s been good to get away from the longer distances and take on a different type of challenge.”

The final standings of the series have yet to be published.
