Walton Girls’ School students have enjoyed some success on track and field of late.

Katie Mackintosh has been selected to run in the under-15 relay at the British Athletics Championships in Birmingham on Friday.

It will be a huge honour and experience for Katie who will rub shoulders with the best of the best athletes in British Athletics.

Katie also achieved a new personal best in the hurdles (which she won at the Lincs Schools ) of 12.1sec. Her time was a Grade 2 performance and puts her in the top six under-15s in the East Midlands and in the top 40 in the UK.

Walton students enjoyed success representing Lincolnshire at the Anglian Championships in Peterborough last Saturday.

In the Inter Girls category, Abbie Byron contested the 100m and 300m, Ashton Massey the high jump, and Amy Newell the pole vault. Zoe Lucas ran the hurdles in the Senior Girls age group.
