ATHLETICS: Grantham AC’s Heanen is hot in Hull

GRANTHAM Athletic Club youngsters took part in the Northern Athletics Track and Field Championships at Costello Stadium in Hull.

Bagging first place in the under-20 men’s 110m hurdles, Jac Heanen recorded a personal best 15.1sec in the process. He also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 6.52m.

Competing in the same age category, Hayden Richards established a new club record and PB with a javelin throw of 56.63m.

Millie Cooper finished fifth in the under-20 girls’ 200m with a PB 26.22. She also finished runner-up in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.36 against a block headwind.

In the under-17 boys category, Josh Lord recorded 4:33.30 to finish eighth in the 1500m. Jake Hornby raced to fourth in the 3,000m with a time of 9:44.83.

l Ropsley Road Runner Martin Neal took part in the Milton Keynes 30-mile road race on Saturday.

Martin completed the gruelling distance in 4hr 45min.
