ATHLETICS: Grantham AC youngsters contest second league match

Grantham Athletic Club under-15s and under-13s competed in the second round of the Youth Development League at Corby on Saturday.

The depleted team finished sixth with 106 points, nowhere near the potential score had they been able to field a full squad.

Ethan Richards-Cole achieved three personal best performances in the under-15s, with James Hall recording two. Angus Sharp, George Halton and William Tucker gained PBs in the under-13s, with 19 PBs achieved overall by the 21 Grantham AC competitors.

l Grantham Running Club’s Catherine Payne followed up her PB in the London Marathon by taking third in her category at the Edinburgh Marathon last Sunday, recording 3hr 23min 11sec.

David Gregory was delighted with his 4.10.21 in his marathon debut and Robert McArdle recorded 3.50.26 for the 26.2 miles.
