Members of Grantham Athletic Club competed in match three of the Lincolnshire Runner Cross Country League at Riseholme near Lincoln.

With much success in the first two matches, the target was to consolidate their position in the various age categories.

In the under-11s, Ewan Rodell and Peter Braybrook continued their form with fifth and sixth respectively, whilst Hollie Smith fought off many challenges to come in 16th.

Helen Braybrook made it a hat trick of third places in the under-13 girls’ race. The under-13 boys was again dominated by Grantham AC as Lewis Davey took first place and George Hatton second. Aaron Hunt, Rori Rodell and Angus Sharp completed the team and all ran well to keep Grantham AC leading the age group.

In a very competitive under-15 girls’ race, Saskia Hunt, Letitia Barrowcliff and Hannah Sharp all put in great performances to keep them in contention in the league. Hannah Sharp ran particularly well, moving up a number of places on previous races.

Looking stronger than ever, Jake Richardson made it three in a row with a third successive victory meaning he cannot be caught and will win the under-17 boys’ league. Josh Lord had his best race of the season so far, finishing third, to put him in contention for the runners-up spot which will be decided in the final race at Louth on December 8.

Grantham senior ladies had a complete team consisting of Sophie Hunt, who ran well to come home in 12th, Victoria Hardwick and Dawn Hunt. The senior men were there in numbers with nine competing. Arthur Short was the quickest in the team with a great run to come home in ninth. Paul Davidson and Mark Gray were the next Grantham AC runners to score, consolidating their place in the league standings.
