BOWLS: Sleaford Town win six out of six
Sleaford Town Bowls Club won six out of six matches this week, starting away at Grantham in the EBA League, where two rink wins secured the aggregate score 68-42 and eight points to four.
Results: Peter Stokes, Larry Davies, Richard Barnes and Paul Jobson won 29-13; Martin Titley, Kris Moore, Phil Musson and Andrew Bird won 21-13; Derek Smith lost 13-16.
At home to Nettleham in the ASC Metals League all three rinks won, scoring 72-40 and picking up all 10 points.
Results: Steve Morris, Brian Srawley and Larry Davies won 25-9; Neil Mapletoft, David Campbell and Bas Gilbert won 23-16; Joan Gilbert, Colin Grosse and Roy Markham won 24-15.
At home against Moorlands Railway in the City League, rink wins were shared two apiece, with the Town taking the aggregate score 102-77 and 10 points.
Results: Lewis Jobson, Kris Moore and Andrew Bird won 31-8; Martin Titley, Peter Stokes and Richard Barnes won 23-19; Neil Mapletoft, Paul Jobson and Trevor Cope lost 18-19; John Parker, Rogerson and Derek Smith lost 30-31.
At home against Dunholme in the District League, three rinks won to take 12 points with a 97-79 scoreline.
Results: Joan Gilbert, Larry Davies and Roy Markham won 27-12; Robin Wilson, Ron Lupton and Mick Wareham won 29-18; Jackie Wareham, Catherine Frain and Bas Gilbert won 19-16; Gerald Woodhead, Kris Moore and Colin Grosse lost 22-33.
Playing at Burton House, Boston, on a neutral green against Donnington in the quarter-final of the Lincolnshire Challenge Bowl, the Town were on the rack for most of the game but rallied to win 102-85.
Results: Peter Annison, Neil Mapletoft and Trevor Cope won 37-13; Kris Moore, Larry Davies and Andrew Bird won 26-20; Martin Titley, Peter Stokes and Richard Barnes lost 19-28; Lewis Jobson, John Parker and Paul Jobson lost 20-24.
On the same night, Town played Sleaford Bristol in the Sleaford League at Mareham Lane, winning on two rinks and drawing one to take the aggregate score 75-58 and nine points to the visitors’ three.
