Grantham Amateur Boxing Club’s annual show takes place at The Meres leisure centre tomorrow (Saturday) and promises to be a night of action.

There are scheduled to be around 20 bouts, the majority being East Midlands Junior Championship fights.

Support bouts include Grantham ABC’s Nathan Wallace’s defence of his Notts and Lincs middleweight belt, in which he takes on the highly experienced James Richardson (Scunthorpe ABC).

Head coach Dean Fardell said: “He’s no mug and has got some pedigree. These are the lads we have got to take on, but we are not afraid.”

The club’s Terry Bennett will take on Joe Ducker (Shepshed ABC), whilst Chris Gudonis faces Doncaster ABC’s Zak Baines.

Dean said: “It’s shaping up to be a good show. It’s had a lot of interest around town, and I hope the people of Grantham come out and support us, to help boost funds and keep the club going.”

Ringside tables have unsurprisingly already all sold out, however regular admission on the door is £12 for adults and £6 children.

Doors open at 5.30pm with boxing scheduled to commence at 6pm.
