County kurling league to begin next month

Have your say

A NEW Age Kurling league will start in Lincolnshire next month, run by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.

Teams must register by Wednesday, January 18 for the league which will run from February to April. If successful, a full league will be set up in September.

There are more than 20 New Age Kurling clubs in the county. The sport is similar to the Winter Olympic sport of curling but is played in village halls using discs and pushers.

Maureen Reader of South Witham Swizzlers said: “We have 40 regular members at our New Age Kurling club and we’ve wanted a league for months

“It’s a great chance to play people from other clubs and meet new players in Lincolnshire.”
