Belton Park 330-3
Moulton Harrox 131
Belton Park produced a record-breaking performance with a much needed win of 199 runs against a weak bottom of the table Moulton Harrox.
Belton’s impressive total of 330 and individual score of 201no by opener Jake Pollard were both club records.
Invited to bat on a soft wicket, Pollard produced an almost one-man show of attacking strokes from the start. He was supported by Reynolds (15), Perera (11) and Matt Cocks (29) in taking the score to 170-3.
Jake was then joined by twin brother Luke (28no) and, having reached his ton, smashed Moulton’s beleaguered bowling to all parts in an unbroken stand of 160 runs in just 13 overs; his innings consisting of 30 fours and four sixes, allowing a declaration after 39 overs.
In reply, Moulton’s top order were unable to handle the pace of Tom Ward (3-34) and Harry Brewin (2-23), despite a valiant 21 from Roberts, as they were reduced to 30-5 with four batsmen failing to trouble the scorers.
James Cornwell (59) led a recovery to allow Moulton to achieve a respectable total as Luke Pollard (2-35) polished off the innings with a tidy spell.
