CRICKET: England and Lincs legends to visit Grantham CC this Saturday
As Grantham Cricket Club reaches the end of another successful season, this Saturday will see the Chairman’s XI play the President’s XI at Gorse Lane, beginning at 1pm.

Joining the President’s XI will be Matthew Dowman, who started his career as a Grantham CC junior, going on to play for the England U19s, as well as playing first class cricket for both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, and Carl Wilson, former Grantham player and current Lincolnshire CCC wicket keeper.
Club chairman Ian Mihill has selected his team from amongst the Dragons CC, a touring cricket club founded in Kent, with over 80 years’ of cricketing history.
Players from the Grantham CC Saturday and Sunday first teams, who have joined the Dragons on tour this year, will feature in this team, including Lincolnshire CCC all-rounder Daniel Freeman and batsman Ross Carnelley.
The clubhouse on Gorse Lane will be open from midday, with a bouncy castle and licensed bar. Entry to the ground and parking are free, and spectators are warmly invited to join the club for this fixture.
